 • Fourier transformation • French mathematician Joseph Fourier discovered the Greenhouse effect. He explained how combining a variety of various-sized sine waves might result in any sort of wave imaginable. This is important for our needs since we may employ certain sine waves (produced by analog devices) to generate digital readouts. • Fourier analysis: Identifying the sine waves that make up a specific signal (think of it as reverse engineering soup - identifying all the ingredients, types, and amounts from a sample of the finished soup). • Fourier transform The process of converting from the frequency domain to the spatial domain (distance or time) or vice versa.
